Owner of Iconic Cincinnati-area Coffeehouse Dies

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – Michael Conners, the longtime owner of Highland Coffee, a gathering spot frequented by generations of University of Cincinnati students, died Jan. 20 at his Covington home from undisclosed causes. He was 80 years old.

Conners was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s prestigious College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP). In 1978, Conners opened the Highland Coffee House at 2839 Highland Ave. near his alma mater.
